Jan A Man, a German soldier and fitness coach whose identity is used in romance scams
Jan A Man comes from the Stuttgart area in Germany. After studying in Munich, he joined the German army, the Bundeswehr, where he spent the first ten years of his career.
He later became a fitness coach. He offers training programs along with advice on nutrition and lifestyle.
An Instagram account that attracted scammers
What really made Jan A Man known is his Instagram account. He and two friends each created an account, betting on who would reach 1,000 followers first. His account went far beyond that: today, more than half a million people follow the German soldier.
This success also attracted scammers. They use his photos to create fake profiles, as they do with many soldiers, some of them well known like Joel Lambert or Douglas Malcolm Fraser. When the soldier whose photos are stolen is unknown, we list him on the page Military men.
The scammers then approach women looking for love. Helped by the looks of Jan A Man, they try to seduce their contacts. If it works, a misfortune suddenly happens and the “lover” asks for financial help, putting pressure on the woman to send money quickly.
If a man with the face of Jan A Man asks you for money, it is a scam. See also the list of photos used by scammers and our page on romance scams.
