Jorge Aravena

Jorge Aravena, a Peruvian actor whose photos are stolen by scammers

Jorge Aravena

Jorge Aravena was born on October 1, 1969 in Peru. At the age of 10, he moved with his parents to Venezuela, where he grew up, made most of his career and took Venezuelan nationality.

He started as the host of the TV game show “Mega Match” in 1997, then turned to acting, with telenovelas such as “Secreto de amor”, “Engañada” and “El amor las vuelve locas”. He then played alongside Gianella Neyra in “Girasoles para Lucía” and “Pobre millonaria”.

A long career in telenovelas

After “Las dos caras de Ana” in 2006, he signed an exclusive contract with Televisa and played in Mexico in “Querida enemiga” (2008), “Zacatillo, un lugar en tu corazón” (2010), “La que no podía amar” and “Una familia con suerte” (2011), then “Porque el amor manda” (2012-2013).

More than twenty years of telenovelas have made him famous throughout Spanish-speaking America, but he remains little known elsewhere. Scammers took advantage of this: they stole his photos to create profiles showing the face of the actor. South American actors are widely represented among the people whose photos are stolen.

The scammers then approach women looking for love on dating sites or social media. They build and strengthen the relationship until the day they ask for money. Then they disappear with it, and the victims never see the handsome actor arrive. This is a romance scam; other stolen faces are listed on the page photos used by scammers.
